Graham MO - On Saturday, April 29th, the Nodaway-Holt R-VII RC team participated in the Ten80 RC Racing competition in Kansas City, Missouri. The team, Tranquility Racing, won EVERY COMPETITION, including the fastest lap, and most laps in 10 minutes and 30 minutes.
The driver of the stock races, Christian Fetterer, says, “The race was pretty fun, I think one of the biggest factors in the win was the pit crew, they really helped me out with making sure I stayed on the track.” The pit crew consisted of Dylan Walker, Kaden Doolin, and Chase McClain.
The Tranquility Racing team is composed of high school students from Nodaway-Holt’s 8th hour STEM class. The students modified, tested, and designed the car over the course of the semester. Each modification was intended to improve the car’s performance.
The students also competed in a drag race. The driver for the drag race, Dylan Walker, said: “It was really hard to keep the car straight on the drag strip” The 75-foot drag race was organized by the Nodaway-Holt racing team. 3 teams competed in the regional competition. Tranquility Racing won all the head to head races.
The results from the regional competition will be compiled for a virtual national competition on May 9th.
