Internet Safety Parent/Community Outreach Meeting

On October 24th, during the last hour of Parent Teacher Conferences, the Nodaway-Holt School District will be hosting a Parent, Guardian & Community Training on Protecting Children in a Hyper Digital Age. This internet safety presentation will be presented by the Northwest Missouri Children's Advocacy Task Force, the Nodaway County Sheriff's Office Cyber Crime Task Force, and Nodaway County DARE. The training will be held at the Nodaway-Holt Elementary School from 6:00-7:00 pm on October 24th.
The following are the fve main risks discussed in the training:
- Inappropriate Content - Things you should not want your children seeing or posting online.
- Online Privacy - The protection of children's personal information.
- Sexting - Sending or receiving nude or partially nude images.
- Online Sexual Solicitations - Unwanted requests to engage in sexual activities.
- Cyberbullying - The use of internet technology or mobile technology to bully or harass someone.
Due to the sensitive nature of the presentation, this training is not recommended for children of any age to attend. During Red Ribbon Week, all grades will receive an age appropriate internet safety training at school.
